We are a recruiting an organised and efficient Materials Planner to join the planning team at a busy chilled food manufacturing site for a business that places great emphasis on providing excellent service in meeting customer requirements. Building effective professional relationships with internal and external customers will be key to maintaining lines of communication to deliver to this standard.
Applicants should have experience of the following:
>>> To translate demand into an accurate and achievable production plan in a batch process factory ensuring all resources required are scheduled effectively to maximise throughput at minimal cost whilst always ensuring the customer is serviced on time and in full.
>>> Translating customer orders and forecasts in order to schedule production to meet customer expectations creating accurate and achievable production and logistics plans.
>>> Analysing and planning raw material needs for daily production, flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and ability to identify and communicate shortages to all concerned parties.
>>> Organising availability of materials and labour to achieve plan.
>>> Reviewing demand and production progress against plan recognising potential deviations or possible failures to meet expectations at an early stage and taking action to avoid or minimise impact.
>>> Managing customers’ expectations in the event of failures in production meeting plans.
>>> Building strong working relationships
>>> with managers across the business working closely with them to build a reliable forecast.
>>> with key suppliers to secure best prices and service, being able to call upon them to expedite materials when required will be vital to the smooth running of the business.
>>> Monitoring and reviewing supplier performance.
>>> Challenging the ways of work to drive improvements in plan conformance.
>>> Influencing Operations to make the right choices.
>>> Maintaining planning documentation including forecasting and stock tracking tools, transport requests and cleaning & PPM schedules.
>>> Accurate planning to ensure sufficiency of materials with minimal waste.
>>> Assessing business needs and continually reviewing raw materials and finished goods to maintain stockholding at minimum working levels to ensure costs associated with storage and risk to service are balanced and kept as low as possible.
>> Familiarity with ERP ideally Axapta or Microsoft Dynamics AX systems. Ability to implement processes and procedures to minimise duplication of information and reliance on spread sheets would be a definite advantage.
>> Knowledge of planning and forecasting techniques for short shelf life chilled food manufacture
>> Ability to assimilate data, draw and implement effective conclusions quickly.
>> Ability to remain focused, calm and practical under pressure.
