Head of Quality

McCain is the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato specialities and employs 20,000 people with almost £4bn sales. With 50 production facilities across six continents striving for world class operation, high Quality, Hygiene and Safety standards and working practices are essential to ensure continued success.

Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, you will manage and develop the Quality, Hygiene and Safety departments to deliver agreed strategies and compliance, and ensure the site operates in line with specifications, codes of practice, budgets and standards. As a key member of the site management team, and Head of Department, you will coach, support and fully engage with your teams and also win the hearts and minds of all involved to uphold and raise the quality ethic.

A broad role, your Quality Management and Hygiene experience will enable you to drive and support the QHS function across the site and maintain all accreditations and certifications including AIB Gold, ISO14001 and BRCv6. A good understanding of NEBOSH, HACCP and Health and Safety policy is also preferred. You are unlikely to be earning less than £50,000 in your current management level position.

Ideally with a degree in Food Science, or related Food discipline, and certainly with extensive proactive management experience from within a technical role supplying private label and branded products to the food/beverages industry, you will savour the opportunity to use your systems and inter-personal skills to really achieve continuous improvement and make your mark in a very successful and progressive international business.
