Group Procurement Director
Further processed meat
Central Eastern Europe location
Market leading remuneration
Our client is a private equity backed; wholly owned market leading further processed meat producer with a high quality product offering serving primarily the CEE market. The leading player in its market, this award winning business has undertaken a period of aggressive acquisition across the region and has recently undertaken a period of consolidation to realise the potential of the newly formed group. Operating across 3 CEE countries the business now seeks to recruit a highly experienced Group Procurement Director to derive and deliver a cohesive leveraged procurement function.
The Role and Requirements
Given the nature of the acquisition strategy and formation of the business the client requires a highly experienced procurement strategist who has procurement experience within the further processed meats market. The business was born out of a number of disparate entities all with their own procurement function and strategy therefore the opportunity and need to consolidate into a highly leveraged, stand alone function is essential to deliver the potential of the business. As Group Procurement Director, you are tasked to ensure that the identification and continued development of partnership sourcing of materials/plant and non-core requirements through strategic supplier alliances to achieve optimum benefit is gained in overall price, quality and service, transitioning the current methodology from a 'Low Cost procurement function' to 'Real Cost of Procurement' function by forming an end to end approach with the production / operational teams. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record in supplier rationalisation, reduced spend and contract negotiations, experience and exposure to the procurement of meat on a commodity / trading basis as well as the ability to build a highly focused integrated team. Experience of supplying to multiple sites is essential for success and experience of supplying cross border will be a distinct advantage.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly formed dynamic leadership team and play an instrumental part in creating a best in class fit for purpose end to end procurement function, where your actions will determine the success of the business.
The business language across the leadership and senior management team is English.
Please note all direct and third party responses will be forwarded to our retained recruitment partner Simon Lownds at Burns Carlton for due consideration.
