We have a vacancy for a tenacious and pro-active Purchasing Manager to take responsibility for the management and control of meat purchasing within a busy and successful FMCG Company. This is a hands-on role, working within a close-knit team, providing cover and support for each other.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and improving relationships with meat suppliers, including improving yield, accuracy of delivery and availability of critical data. Good communication and influencing skills are essential as are strong problem solving skills. The ability to keep calm in a fast paced and constantly changing environment is a must.
The nature of the role means that the successful candidate will need to pick up new systems, product information and processes very quickly.
An advanced level understanding of Excel is important and you will be able to demonstrate success within a buying role. Whilst full training will be provided it would be helpful to have some understanding of beef or lamb butchery or purchasing.
