My client is an established multi site food manufacturing business based in the West Midlands that are currently seeking to add a new Senior Production Manager to their Management team. This is a fast paced, labour intensive site who manufacture a leading branded product as well as manufacturing own label products for the major multiple retailers and food service cutomers.
This role will report directly to the Operations Manager and you must be able to demonstrate a solid track record in Production Management managing teams in excess of 50 - 100 people. You must be able to demostrate what achievements and improvements you have made in your career and how this was achieved.
You will be accountable for the performance of the production process: goods-in, production, despatch, packaging and ancillary stores functions.
Applying the principles and practices of Lean Thinking to continuously improve and will have the authority to stop non-conforming product, or process, where product safety or employee safety is at risk
•You will be responsible for the management of the Production and your direct reports which include 2 Production Supervisors; Production Supporter x 1 per shift; Raw Materials Process Manager and a Despatch Manager.
•You will be responsible for conforming to the Production budgets
•Activities in support of continuous improvement (e.g. Problem Solving, Problem Prevention, Leading 5’S, Project Management, Statistical Process Control, Line Balancing, designing and delivering appropriate training packages, etc.)
•Coaching and developing team members
Experience Required:
•Demonstrable previous experience of Managing teams of 50 -100 + in a food manufacturing environment at Production Manager level .
•Must be Influential
•Enjoys working with and through people.
•Drives to achieve results through a logical and systematic approach.
•Actively influences and motivates a variety of people in changing situations.
•Degree-level education is beneficial but not essential
•Experience of successfully implementing Lean Thinking in a FMCG environment
