This global leading consumer goods brand, with a turnover of £2billion, is a genuine market and category leader both in the UK and Internationally. Their brands have a strong heritage as well as being respected for their quality and innovation.
To build on their continued growth, they seek to strengthen their senior management team with a Director of New Product Development which will report to the CEO.
The Role
To champion and raise the profile of the NPD function and ensure it is an effective and valuable contributor to both strategy and commercial/marketing plans.
Manage complex product development programmes relating to rigorous timescales and delivery objectives ,in particular aiming to working within shorter NPD lifecycles i.e. 12-18 months
Work closely and in alignment with highly experienced key stakeholders when presenting or consulting on business cases for NPD strategy; continuous improvement of marketing/consumer insights on both a conceptual and practical level.
Lead and develop a high calibre team; including responsibility for organisational design to ensure maximum effectiveness and produce the highest levels of staff motivation and engagement.
The Candidate
An articulate and credible individual who ideally has a strong and successful track record of NPD & Innovation management within the branded consumer goods/FMCG arena.
Can illustrate genuine leadership skills and previous experience of successfully leading and motivating a team to achieve clear but also challenging objectives, which have had a substantial and positive impact across a business.
Possessing a strong commercial and business oriented approach as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable and confident operating at all levels both internally and externally.
