A unique opportunity has arisen within our Research and Development department, where we are looking to recruit a highly experienced and motivated Quality Assurance Technologist to set the standards for all quality and food safety systems and processes within Mars.

The Quality Assurance Technologist's main focus will be to work on setting quality and food safety standards and standardising these across Mars as a whole (Chocolate, Petcare, Gum & Confections, Food, Drinks) . In this cross-functional role you’ll interface with key external networks globally to ensure an up to date understanding of field of expertise and establish relationships with R&D, Commercial, Supply and Logistics to name but a few! You will play a key part in encouraging a culture of quality and food safety awareness and continuous improvement, implementing and promoting best practice. You’ll also:

• Make step changes in developing processes, standards and tools across the supply chain

• Contribute to Mars University’s Quality and Food Safety Curriculum

• Deliver competency training

• Be a source of expertise on all aspects of Quality and Food Safety Management

The successful candidate will have obtained a science degree or equivalent in food safety / food science and will have substantial previous experience in a similar role within a global FMCG organisation. You’ll have a can-do attitude, excellent influencing skills and won’t be fazed by working with senior management. Planning and prioritisation is vital; the successful Quality Assurance Technologist will shine in a fast-moving environment. We expect you to be results driven, someone with their eye on improvements and a mind focused on innovation. Your IT and communication skills will be second to none and you’ll be proud of your attention to detail. The Quality Assurance Technologist will be required to travel, sometimes globally for up to a week on each occasion.
