We operate manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom and the United States and employ nearly 7,000 people. We have 16 convenience foods facilities in the UK and 3 in the US providing a wide range of chilled, frozen and ambient foods to major retail and foodservice customers in the UK, the US and Ireland. This role will support the Evercreech site but will be based in our customers head office in West London. Evercreech operates from the heart of the picturesque Somerset village of Evercreech since the end of the nineteenth century this facility manufactures award-winning chilled desserts. Acquired by Greencore in September 2011 significant investments are being made at the site to ensure that the category continues to supply many more innovative and award-winning products in the years ahead.
The role
To review & identify key business opportunities within the Category and to provide improved Sales, Availability & Wastage across the category. The role will be based in London Paddington (W2)
Key accountabilities
Availability * Product analysis, exploitation and recommendations * Understand ranging by shape of chain/store clusters and how we could influence higher sales by demographics * Identify and investigate poor performing lines and stores and liaising with the customer supply chain team as to what action is taken * Analysis into tray fill rates and what is the most efficient tray fill to maximise distribution, minimise waste, but ensure we are maximising vehicle fills * Identifying seasonal trends and take the appropriate action with the customer supply chain team * Identify & Challenge further opportunities beyond forecasting that may establish significant benefit for the Category, including working to ad-hoc project specifications. Promotion * Involvement in the promotional planning process * Post promotional analysis including review of losses, missed sales, exit stock and switching analysis * Identifying victim lines and percentage volume variances * Help with planning the promotions through the customer supply chain * Formulating a historic database for all promotions to assist future forecast and maximise promotional returns Ranging and Stocking Point Issues * To provide recommendations and actions on range availability at cluster level through ranging analysis * Understand ranging by shape of chain and how we could influence higher sales by store format and demographic analysis * Provide pre-range review and in-flight ranging analysis, making recommendations of range changes to improve sales and waste * Reviewing the product tail and understanding which SKUs should be delisted or replaced with newness * Liaise with traders to maximise sales opportunity for the category/categories (e.g. desserts or meals) * Support category team on PIR's for seasonal events and NPD Seasonal * Provide analysis on and assist supply chain team with planning of key seasonal events during the year to maximise sales and minimise waste Ways of working * Regular communication across all parties to ensure weekly / periodic plans are agreed and aligned; which will incorporate the monthly reporting function that are appropriate * Understanding the data available and how we can utilise software to interrogate effectively i.e. click view
