We are recruiting for a Technical Manager role, on behalf of a leading Food Manufacturer.

Based in Leeds in the West Yorkshire area, the position would also be in commuting distance from Bradford, Hudderfield, Wakefield, Doncaster, Halifax, Hull, Manchester, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Humberside etc

The Technical Quality Manager will generally work 8.30am - 5.30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage, motivate and audit a team of QA and Hygiene operatives and their duties in order to meet production targets.
  • Manage and approve existing and new suppliers, including raw material specifications and intake checks.
  • Develop and monitor HACCP and quality systems in accordance to the latest BRC standards.
  • Process and data analysis (e.g. yields, complaints, weight control), validation and improvement.
  • To conduct factory audits ensure that all areas comply with hygienic audits, both internal and external, reporting any anomalies found.
  • To ensure GMP and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to by all staff.
  • To manage the training and development of new starters within own department and provide on-going training in line with BRC standard to existing employees.
  • Monitor, control and minimise waste and play an active part in continuous improvement.
  • Assess product quality on the production line in accordance to customer’s specification.
  • Conduct daily and weekly hygiene and glass audits.
  • Conduct and organise environmental swabbing and product analysis as schedule dictates.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • HACCP qualification.
  • Food Hygiene qualification.
  • Previous experience in an FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of BRC Standard

Salary: circa £30,000 - £40,000 (doe)

+ Benefits (25 + bank holidays. Bank holidays are worked and taken in lieu)
