Challenging shift based team leader role in the meat sector - rotating early and late shifts.
OUR CLIENT is a cooked meat business and is part of one of the largest cooked meats operators in the UK. They supply premium quality and standard cooked meat products to the retail food sector especially the major multiples.
THE ROLE - Shift Team Leader is to be responsible for meeting output targets in an extremely fast moving businesses working to strict food industry health & safety and hygiene standards. The role is responsible for the supervision of a production shift employing 70 staff daily.
The successful applicant must manage:
*Production targets and planning
*People including training of staff
*Site equipment
*Communication with other departments, staff and managers.
*Quality Control
*Health and Safety
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE will be literate and numerate, with excellent communication, IT and organisational skills. Previous experience in supervising manufacturing processes and people in a high risk food manufacturing business with direct knowledge of meat slicing operations will be required, together with an awareness of Health & Safety and safe systems of work. We expect the successful candidate to have excellent knowledge of manufacturing machinery used in production of chilled food products.
