Our client are a major retail organisation who are looking for a Head of Produce Quality to join their team based in Yorkshire.
Responsible for leading the Produce Quality teams in the delivery of own brand strategy for vertically integrated and third party produced products, driving a significant change in our quality perception. The role is also responsible for identifying the need for and leading change programmes and for leading Quality input into new business projects such as acquisitions, mergers and expansions.
Role Accountabilities:
Building a winning Produce quality team leading the development of individuals and team as a whole
Developing and leading the Produce Quality Improvement Plan to drive a step change in the perception of Own Brand Quality including benchmarking, consumer panel and routine quality testing
Creating relationships of genuine strength within a multi disciplinary team (Trading, Own Brand, NPD, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Retail Operations, Technical) around one team, one company but with clear responsibilities
Keeps abreast of Produce Industry Technical strategies and issues and of wider business strategy and issues, continuously seeks to improve performance by seeking best practise.
Candidate Functionalities:
Relevant degree in an agricultural science or a closely related discipline
Significant leadership experience
A deep knowledge of the safety, legal compliance, growing and quality attributes across the Produce supply chain and product range
Significant post-graduate experience in the Produce Industry
Commercial acumen which facilitates a contribution to Produce supplier strategy
Ability to lead crisis situations such as product withdrawals and recalls
Significant experience of change management
Customer focused perspective
