Innovations Manager

The Company

This award winning food manufacturer has gained recognition for their innovative private label products. Due to continued growth the company is now looking to appoint an exceptional Innovations Manager to join their dedicated innovations team to energise the NPD process.

The Role

Reporting to the Innovations Director you’ll play a pivotal role in concept development, leading and motivating the Innovations team to develop fantastic new ideas for inspirational projects and covering all elements including packaging, costings and product launches. You’ll be encouraging them to continuously source new suppliers and ingredients to give your products that competitive edge whilst being time and cost effective.

You’ll review the ever changing market place, identifying gaps for potential business and suggesting new concepts that are commercially viable to maximise profitability through creativity and innovation. You’ll also be working closely with internal teams, undertaking regular reviews and updates to ensure that products are in line with critical paths and launch timetables.

Furthermore you’ll liaise with internal colleagues to guarantee the smooth transition of projects into the factory leading to successful product launches. You’ll also be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, reviewing lines all year round through sales and benchmarking to evaluate and enhance product performance.

There will be a strong customer facing element to this role, where you’ll conduct customer presentations, impressing them with your market knowledge and new product ideas that make this company stand apart from its competitors.

The Candidate

We are looking for a proactive and committed NPD Manager educated to HND or degree level in Food Science or Food Technology. A well rounded knowledge of the technical and commercial aspects of NPD gained from experience within a FMCG environment is essential along with proven experience of managing NPD projects from concept to launch for the major UK retailers. Excellent organisation, communication and influencing skills are a must as you will be working very closely with customers as well as managing internal teams to drive projects forward.
