Responsible for the management of the Technical team and ensuring that the site adheres to all legal, Food Safety and Quality standards, you will be responsible for supporting the site in the production of highest quality products with maximum plant efficiencies and minimum damage. To do this the post-holder will drive a quality and technical culture throughout all site functions, operations and processes, through the continued development of procedures, systems and documents in line with the highest industry standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for: increasing the presence and reputation of the technical function on site and maintaining the achievement of group technical standards in line with BRC; achieving a ‘buy-in’ of technical standards across all departments; developing and promoting customer relationships; and promoting site compliance and hygiene control.
With previous experience of managing a technical /quality department, you’ll be familiar with challenging technical environments and capable of high-level technical as well as commercial decision making. A flexible and hard-working individual, you will be a technically sound, commercially astute professional with a proven background in technical management, leading BRC and developing quality management systems, specifically with a range of major retailer customers. Quality oriented, you will have had extensive management plus a strong awareness of brand technical integrity, and be capable of inspiring your team with a hands-on approach. You’ll be resilient, commercially astute, decisive, a natural leader and a true change manager, who can shape and direct a world-class technical agenda.
