PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Reporting to the Head of Group Procurement, you will manage and develop an existing dynamic packaging team. You will also be responsible for the design and development of packaging materials to meet business and customer requirements.
This is a challenging and demanding role where you will be managing a portfolio of packaging solutions across a wide range of fresh and frozen products, supporting categories in project delivery, innovation and New / Existing Product Development.
As an experienced project manager, you will be highly organised and a strong people manager, possessing the ability to align the necessary resources to achieve objectives. You must therefore be able to demonstrate your ability to effectively manage and motivate high performing teams setting clear objectives, along with coaching and mentoring individuals to achieve the team and wider business goals. Preference will be given to those with experience managing teams across a multi site environment.
Commercially astute, the successful applicant will also be able to demonstrate an indepth knowledge and understanding of packaging. Due to the technical nature of this role it is also essential that you possess a third level qualification in a food, packaging, science related subject or relevant experience.
An excellent communicator, with strong influencing and negotiation skills, you will be able to demonstrate an analytical mind and a solid understanding of financial measurements and the cost drivers that impact the business.
Due to the geographical spread of our business frequent travel is essential. Therefore a full driving licence and the flexibility to travel at short notice is essential.
