My client who are a leading high care food manufacturer based in East Anglia supplying the major retailers with a branded product as well as manufacturing the major retailers own label products are cuurently seeking a QA Manager to join this fast moving successful food manufacturing business.
As QA Manager you will be focused on the Factory, you will champion and manage Quality Assurance (QA) systems to ensure all products produced adhere to legal, customer and company requirements. Working closely with internal customers from Production, NPD and QA your team will provide skilled technical administration support, which will help to ensure a standardised approach to QA systems activities on the site.
Acting as a key point of contact for the site’s major retail customers regarding systems and product specifications, you will promote a high standard of awareness and understanding of policies and procedures.
As QA Manager you will continuously improve standards set by facilitating and executing Practical Problem Solving and other appropriate methodologies, in which training and support can be provided.
This role reports into the Site Technical Manager
Key Accountabilities
•Manage the QA team, ensuring standards are defined for QA processes, operational practices and product quality
•Regularly liaise with the Technical, QA and Process teams, ensuring deadlines / KPIs are met, and customer codes of practice are adhered to
•Develop the site Quality Management System and process quality documentation incorporating company, regulatory, customer and 3rd party standards
•Develop the site HACCP plan, whilst leading the HACCP team and facilitating regular review meetings
•Facilitate factory audits, including customer and 3rd party, focussing on the Quality Management Systems
•Develop and maintain the Quality training programme in line with central training materials and site QMS
•Build a high performing, sustainable QA team with focus on coaching, feedback, performance management and evaluation
Candidate Profile
Previous Experience:
•QA or Technical experience within a fast paced Food or Beverage manufacturing environment essential
•People management or supervisory experience within a factory based environment essential
•A thorough understanding of BRC and Food Safety and Quality systems essential
•Knowledge of HACCP essential
••Understanding of retailer codes of practice desirable
•Experience of working with retailer own label products desirable
•Experience of working with high risk, chilled food products desirable
•Experience gained working independently, demonstrating a methodical approach essential
•Candidates must be comfortable working in a chilled food/meat production environment and be prepared to be hands on.
Qualifications
•Candidates must be educated to minimum HND level in Food Science or related subject
•Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
