My client is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams to continually improve the availability and reliability of equipment, and ensuring the site operates in a compliant and productive manner. Excellent people skills and ability communicate and lead a team is essential.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities as follows.
-Identify maintenance improvement opportunities and develop action plan to deliver
-Ensure budgetary targets and departmental KPIs are met
-Promote and comply with legislative and business compliance standards such as health, safety, environmental, GEP (good engineering practice) and quality
-Maintain an appreciation of technical development
-Drive a proactive, continuous improvement engineering culture, promoting change whilst supporting the manufacturing strategy
-Dictate engineering equipment and installation standards
-Negotiate contract and supply costs, ensuring value for money
-Maintain an appreciation of technical developments
-Manage minor projects which deliver professional standards and maintain competitive edge
-Co-ordinate shut down activities and deliver planned work to time / cost / quality requirements
-Lead performance management with multiskilling and apprenticeships programmes
-Provide engineering management information, technical information, expertise and support
-Ownership of cap ex projects
-Promote and deliver PPM programme
Essential skills:
-Engineering qualification
-Good Managerial experience
-Excellent people management and technical skills with the ability to drive change
-The ability to formulate and deliver engineering strategy
-Knowledge and understanding of modern maintenance practices
-Excellent communication, organisation, analysis skills, with attention to accurate detail
-Team player and flexible approach
-Problems solver and solution driven
-FMCG/Food experience
