Factory Accountant

Part of a £Multi-million organisation with multiple sites across the UK, this food manufacturing site produce a range of high quality , short shelf life, chilled food products to the UK's leading retailers and has experienced substantial year on year growth. Their aim is to provide their customers with products of exceptional quality, striving to meet and exceed the expectations of both customers and consumers. Reporting to the site General Manager, in this role as Factory Accountant you will hold full responsibility for delivery of an effective and timely accounting service to the site management team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant to gain a position within a senior management team where you will be able to make an impact, implement change and contribute to strategic decision making and profitability within the site. Day to day duties will involve managing the activities of the site accounting team to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial results, and improving the financial and operational controls on site. It will also involve management of the existing accounting team on site. You will be a qualified accountant with extensive experience producing management accounts. Experience of people management and a background gained in manufacturing and indeed food is preferred. Able to challenge effectively you will be confident to make recommendations to the site management team for improvements. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders are also essential. Computer literate, you will also possess sound understanding of ERP systems, and strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to manipulate large amounts of data to produce meaningful and effective reports.
