A great opportunity has become available for a Senior Technical Manager with major retail experience preferably with Tesco. This growing organisation is looking for a technically strong and confident individual to lead and motivate the Quality team as well as having main technical responsibility for the Tesco account.
You will be responsible for the following:
- To support the Head of Technical in ensuring that hygiene and food safety systems are maintained at all times in line with Company policy on food safety and quality;
- To support and promote a food culture through the implementation of appropriate technical systems and ensure food safety, legality and robustness of product quality for all of the Company products;
- To manage the Technical ‘supply’ team to ensure that all sources and raw materials are approved in line with Company policy, ensuring that all raw material (procured or own produced) is grown and handled so as to minimise microbiological, pesticide and foreign body contamination and handled in an appropriate cold chain;
- To work with Procurement and Operations teams to develop farm and factory based systems to deliver business needs and ensure continuous improvement;
- Ensure appropriate raw materials testing is conducted, that records are kept, results and trends published and adverse results acted upon promptly to customer satisfaction;
- Work with the technical team to ensure production of weekly KPIs for degree hours and raw material quality;
- Take responsibility for reviewing the safe system of work prior to the commencement of the work activity.
The ideal candidate will be self motivated and customer facing with a proven track record in quality and technical management. You must have worked within a high care environment previously for at least 3 years and have a track record of being successful in this area.
