Packaging Development Manager

With a market leading position and state of the art facilities this business considers continued investment in NPD and innovation of critical importance to their continued long term relationships with their customers and supplying real value and quality to consumers. As the packaging development manager you lead a team across a number of sites in the group and be responsible for the development of creative and commercially viable packaging solutions. In addition you`ll work closely with suppliers to improve existing packaging formats and identify and implement continuous improvement and where appropriate rationalisation programs. Across the group you`ll co-ordinate delivery of new projects and work closely with technical to support any quality or technical packaging questions. You will be key in generating sufficient packaging innovation ideas to ensure a continuous flow of suitable projects, providing effective evaluation, trailing & reporting of packaging innovation projects via well managed project reviews. We are seeking a candidate with substantial packaging experience within a high volume manufacturing environment, experience of working in a packaging role in a food and drink or FMCG experience would be advantageous. Experience of a variety of packaging formats is important, knowledge of plastics/films, labels, cardboard and printed packaging would be advantageous. You`ll need to have experience of leading and developing teams and be able to show how you have contributed to packaging innovation and strategy within a business.
