Reporting directly to the Technical Director, this new position will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of an agreed Lean strategy within the Quality Departments through the deployment of continuous improvement tools and techniques across all UK manufacturing sites.

Home based but travelling frequently (weekly) to each of the sites, this individual will be joining a business that recognises the need to both instigate and react to ongoing business change. With this in mind, the central task for the Continuous Improvement Manager is to equip the Quality teams on the sites with the systems, tools and techniques to deliver this change agenda on a proactive, efficient and sustainable basis. The long term objective from this is to make the Quality Departments more responsive and self motivated towards change. The vision is also for the sites to be operating on a common platform focused on the need to drive waste and inefficiency out of the business in the quest for least cost status.

A key aspect of this role will be to work closely with the Technical Director in order to identify operational best practice, with reference made to both internal and external sources. These observations will be translated into formal standard operating procedures, processes, KPI's and techniques that with the agreement of the senior management team can be rolled out to all sites. ?« Demonstrable track record of achieving results / managing change
?« Applicants must have substantial experience with Continuous Improvement in both operational and transactional functions from within a fast moving manufacturing operation. Previous industry experience would be an advantage but is in no way essential
?« Previous involvement in changing the operational working practices of manufacturing operations
?« Sound commercial and business acumen, able to maximise the opportunities for continuous improvement
?« Sound financial awareness
?« Excellent written and verbal communication skills
?« Will have held middle management role and be ready to contribute to a senior team
?« Articulate with the ability to rapidly engage people from Senior Management through to Operators
