I am currently recruiting a Graduate NPD Technologist vacancy for one of the UK's largest food manufacturer's based in East Anglia, this role is ideal for a Food Science graduate who is also a Passionate Foodie and wants to pursue a career in Food New Product Development.
This role will be a Monday to Friday role working normal office hours but will require some flexibility during product launches etc. You will report into the Product manager and wil be involved in the development of products for one of the UK's major multiples such as Tesco or M&S.
Salary on offer £18k and on the job training and developent provided.
Your role will include:
•Customer presentations both on site and at customer offices with required supporting material as required.
•Managing projects within the customer launch process and the company Product Development Process.
•To be fully conversant with all on site manufacturing capabilities, ingredients and process conditions and parameters.
•Carrying out project work against development briefs.
•Planning development work and maintaining detailed records of all work.
•Co-ordination and briefing of suppliers.
•Holding regular project updates with the site teams and reporting project updates to line manager.
•Preparation of customer bench samples on a timely basis.
•Coordination and briefing of Factory trials with operations and supporting role in pre-production and first production runs.
•Keeping up to date with competitor launches, consumer trends, restaurant trends affecting consumer behaviour and food purchasing decisions.
•Conversant with category data and consumer insight as tools for NPD.
•Maintain a review on existing products and endeavour to improve and develop on a continuous basis.( EPD)
It is essential that you are confident in presenting, have good “people skills” (both verbally and written in the English language), must also have a flexible approach and outlook to your work and be prepared to work additional hours as required to ensure products launch on time and to budget.
You must be degree qualified in Food Scince or related subject, if you have completed an industry placement during your degree this will be very beneficial but not essential.
