My Client is a leading Blue Chip Manufacturer looking for a Site Technical Manager to join the business. Reporting to the Group Technical Manager and General Manager you will be responsible for working alongside fellow senior team members to drive the business objectives and site profitability. In due course you will provide cover for the Senior Technical Manager and this higher role would then form part of succession planning. Whilst this role is at a meat retail packing plant, my Client would also be happy to look at Technical Managers with chilled foods experience, particularly in ready meals as this would add value through that category experience. You will need to be a hands on Technical Manager as you will be factory focused, spending more time in the factory environment than behind a desk. You will need to be logical and structured, managing your own time effectively.
As Site Technical Manager you will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of both the Technical and Night Hygiene function on site. Maintaining and evaluating Quality Manual Systems in line with company policy and customer and legislative requirements. You will need to recommend where necessary product withdrawal from internal or customer use, ensure all laboratory testing is conducted in accordance with customer/legal requirements whilst making sure of the most effective/efficient utilisation of departmental resources, labour and machinery.
You will need to be a robust character, with the ability to lead a team as well as work effectively as part of the broader management team. Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required as this role will have a customer facing aspect.
