Electrical Duty Holder

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this is a role of fundamental importance to the business. You will have a wide range of responsibilities including:
- Working strategically to implement the overall engineering plan with a focus on world class manufacturing standards
- Taking ownership and developing all statutory compliance requirements such as Fixed Wire Testing and Portable Appliance Testing. While you will be focused on electrical areas, you will be expected to have a crust of knowledge across all general engineering compliance areas
- Leading a training and development programme across the engineering department. The team has a heavy mechanical bias and the site strategy requires a dual-skilled engineering team. You will be expected to work closely with the team to upskill their electrical knowledge through both internal training and also 3rd party training providers.
- Working closely with the team as the on site electrical expert on all day to day matters when required

The successful candidate will have a track record in electrical engineering, either in a people management role or one where a strategic element has existed away from day to day maintenance. You will be qualified to at least HNC level ideally with 17th Edition. A knowledge of key legislative themes(ideally relevant qualifications) is key, such as ATEX, COSHH, PAT and Fixed Wire Testing.
