Due to upcoming maternity leave, the opportunity has arisen for a technical professional to cover the Technical Supplier and Systems Manager role on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The successful individual will lead and promote quality and technical standards to the UK and European third party manufacturing suppliers, in addition to being the primary technical point of contact between Arla Foods and our co-packers. The role also involves enforcing the quality strategy of Arla Foods through Quality Management Systems to ensure products and services meet legal, quality and food safety standards.
Responsibilities in this role will include managing and coordinating all of the technical and quality activities with respect to UK and European third party manufacturing suppliers. You will pro-actively manage potential issues that have been identified at third party manufacturing suppliers to prevent them from becoming serious incidents or product withdrawals
You will monitor the quality and technical performance of the suppliers (e.g complaints, audits, incidents) and take corrective action as necessary, managing and delivering a fully risk assessed supplier assurance audit programme. You will work in conjunction with the Applications team to ensure all new suppliers meet Arla requirements whilst managing the Group QEHS procedures to ensure they are accurate, meet all customer, legislative and industry requirements and that they are fully implemented across all UK Arla sites
You will also manage all group quality and technical certification schemes e.g BRC, ISO22000, Organic, Red Tractor along with the group Pest Control contract.
To be successful in this role you will hold a Food Science related degree or equivalent. You will have previous experience of working in technical roles within a Food FMCG environment and experience of retailer interaction. You will be lead assessor trained and also hold L4 HACCP along with L4 Food Safety. You will have excellent relationship building capabilities with the ability to influence and motivate at all levels with strong communication skills both verbal and written with the confidence to challenge in an appropriate manner when required.
