The Kerry Group has a strategy to achieve World Class Manufacturing Status for its manufacturing sites through the implementation of Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives and the Attleborough site is currently on a journey to implement Lean manufacturing methodology via the Kerry Lean Programme.

The Lean Co-ordinator will be responsible for providing direction to the site in the transition to 'True Lean', and together with the General Manager, you will set the pace, and implement the transformational strategy. Working with the leadership team and staff at all levels, you will act as an instructor, coach and mentor to communicate Lean principles, values and tools that enable the site to take advantage of the next improvement opportunities that a Lean approach can identify. In addition, you will be responsible for driving metrics, tracking and reporting progress against project plans, and identifying and resolving project risks and issues. You will provide feedback and insight to the Site Leadership team around the challenges and progress on the ground at the site and you will also work closely with the group Lean Coach and Lean colleagues at other sites, representing Attleborough at Kerry Lean Programme team meetings. We are seeking a proactive individual with a passion for Lean who can share our vision for Attleborough to become one of the best food manufacturing sites in the UK.


Key Accountabilities

  • To develop and implement a site Lean strategy that is aligned to the Kerry Foods'  standardised operating model
  • To act as the change agent, coaching, mentoring and influencing at all levels
  • To facilitate the education of the team in the principles, philosophies and tools of the Kerry Production System
  • Set-up, coordinate and direct the activities of the Jishuken team
  • Coordinate the site continuous improvement activities using master schedule and 8 Step Practical Problem Solving
  • Lead the opportunity assessment and other processes to methodically identify and prioritise site cost base improvements
  • Set the site up to succeed through implementation of Kerry Production System standard ways of working
  • Openly share knowledge and experiences with colleagues so that Kerry Foods can accelerate our journey to World Class Manufacturing status
  • Develop appropriate plans and schedules to ensure that maturity targets are achieved for Strategy, Performance & Delivery, Manufacturing & Process Management, Jishuken and True Lean



Previous Experience

  • Experience in a Lean/CI role within a high speed manufacturing environment is essential
  • A deep understanding of the principles and tools of lean manufacture is essential
  • The ability to align the site lean strategy with that of the Kerry group and to deploy site strategy across the business is essential
  • The ability to communicate targets and goals in a clear concise fashion at all levels within the business is essential
  • The ability to lead through development & education of others is essential
  • An insatiable appetite for better performance is essential
  • A structured and disciplined approach to adherence of standards set is essential
  • You will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment
  • Experience of managing a multi-functional team is desirable
  • Experience within a Food Processing environment is desirable

Qualifications

  • A third level qualification in Lean, Continuous Improvement or a related subject is desirable
  • Proficient use of MS Office tools is desirable
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
