Our client, a £multi-million ambient grocery business is one of the largest manufacturers in their sector, and over the last 25 years they have developed a diverse range of branded and own label products supplied to major UK and European customers. They are at the forefront of the growing consumer demand for healthier foods resulting in the investment and expansion of the business.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you’ll be responsible for leading and inspiring a multi-skilled team. You’ll have total accountability for the Engineering Department, using your hands-on, as well as management skills to confidently run this busy function. With an emphasis on the professional delivery of capital projects, your role will also involve the development of an effective maintenance system, as well as ensuring continuous improvement and best practice in all areas of activity.
Working as part of the site’s senior management team, you must be a degree qualified engineering professional, with proven experience in a similar role, who can demonstrate strong leadership, motivational and communication skills. From a related food/FMCG manufacturing background, you should also have a hands-on and practical understanding of plant and site maintenance, along with prior responsibility for commissioning and managing projects.
