This innovative and progressive group produce a comprehensive range of chilled, ambient and fresh foods, with multiple sites across the UK. They are a highly respected name in the food industry, and pride themselves on first class quality and service. This site, considered a flagship in the group, has recently benefitted from substantial capital investment due to a continued increase in market share, and the role of General Manager is to oversee the full operational running of this site.
As part of the senior management team you will have full site P&L accountability and provide vision, guidance and leadership focused around the delivery of manufacturing KPI’s and the increase of year on year performance. You will proactively contribute to the developement of the strategic direction for achieving the site’s 5 year plan. You will be heavily involved with project work and new capital investments to increase quality and customer service, whilst reducing costs through a continuous improvement culture. In addition, staff development is a critical element of this position, to fall in line with the companies ‘putting people first’ ethos.
The ideal candidate will be of graduate calibre with a significant track record of strategic and day-to-day management of large manufacturing sites, and be able to demonstrate the successful development of their teams. A high profile, an engaging work ethic, first rate analytical skills and personal inspiration are also essential to achieve critical objectives and embed a culture of continuous improvement, across functions.
