The Food Packaging - Strategic Research Engineer/Scientist will identify and develop innovative and unique packaging technologies within the area of packaging materials primarily flexibles. Our client is a global blue chip food company; R&D and Innovation capabilities play a central part in our client`s growth plans. Current investment in this area enables them to build a winning organisation by increasing both capacity and capability. This role is to identify and develop innovative packaging equipment technologies and platforms. This role will be on site in the Midlands with travel to other UK sites and Europe probably travelling up to 70% of the time. Day to day working on the management of packaging equipment initiatives, working at a technical leader on cross-functional teams e.g. across research and supply chain. Training and coaching more junior members of team on packaging materials / equipment interactions. The successful candidate will be of graduate caliber and be experienced in Packaging material science primarily flexibles. Previous commercialization and plant operations experience in FMCG. You will have a proven track record of technical project delivery with the ability to manage several tasks concurrently. Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly to change is essential. IP strategy and patent process would be desirable as wood use of robotic, hi-speed parts handling and laser technology systems.
