Working for a rapidly expanding and highly acquisitive food production and distribution business the Buyer, Procurement Specialist will be responsible for taking the lead role within the procurement team across a range of categories including; food, drink, meat and non-food contracts across Europe.
This is an exciting opportunity to get in at the beginning of the evolution of a new organisation in the UK and Europe. The company already has the highest level of credentials, and a £multi-million business, in the Far East. It is well funded and has big ambitions to gain a stake in a £10bn market in Europe through the successful establishment of European operations from the UK.
The Buyer, Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the identification and acquisition of a wide range of specialist products and services for their European operations and the development of vendor relationships. This will involve; sourcing and developing new products with suppliers, maintenance and development of inventory management systems and databases and effective control of consignment stock in warehouses in the Midlands.
In order to join this organisation you will need to demonstrate considerable procurement experience from an FMCG environment or a Buyer from a blue-chip organisation, ideally Food Production or Distribution, and who has experience of managing people as well as the selection of products for local markets. Experience in Microsoft Excel, SAGE, Access and PowerPoint are all a pre-requisite for this role as is excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments to ensure a full audit trail is maintained between the organisation and customer.
