Supporting quality to ensure we deliver the best quality product to our consumers is our primary aim at Mars, whatever the role. And it‘s no different in this busy production environment, where you’ll also be responsible for your own safety and those around you. Supervising teams of up to 10 people in an area with an annual production total of around 14,000 tonnes, major features of the role are:

- operation and maintenance of production assets within your area
- quality checks
- ordering and managing supplies
- basic fault-finding and repair
- hygiene.

There’s a technical element for sure – you’ll be the key person on the line for changeovers and machine setting. But don’t worry; we’ll train you in mechanical and problem-solving skills. Then there’s the communication. It’ll be your responsibility to capture and communicate information to other teams and colleagues.

You’ll need a Level 2, ideally Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering with a clear track record in a fast-moving production environment. Strong planning and organisation will match your problem-solving and fault finding skills, along with your ability to communicate and develop strong relationships with colleagues. You’ll also need to be computer-literate and able to use our internal software packages.
