MRC Human Nutrition Research (HNR) conducts nutrition research and surveillance to improve the health of the population with a focus on obesity and metabolic risk, musculoskeletal health, intestinal health and nutritional inequalities.
We wish to appoint a Research Assistant within the Dietary Assessment Team to assist on project to compile a recipe and ingredients database funded by the Food Standards Agency.
This role has responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of the research project, assisting with data collection, carrying out data quality checks and maintaining project timelines in line with agreed deadlines.
You should be educated to degree level in human nutrition, food science, or a related subject, with work experience in a research or food environment. You will demonstrate sound understanding of recipe calculations and UK nutrient composition, and have a strong interest in cooking. You should be good a team player with a flexible approach and problem-solving skills. Good IT, communication and administrative skills are essential in this role. Previous experience of line management would be advantageous, but is not essential.
