Senior Buyer - Ingredients - to £40k pa + Benefits - Lancashire Our client is a leading multi-site Food Manufacturer operating within a fast-moving category sector. They have a newly created position available for a Senior Buyer to join a dynamic Procurement team and be responsible for the management of a £25 million raw materials budget. Key to the businesses UK and International success is their ability to source high quality ingredients and raw materials in a cost efficient manner. The activities of the Senior Buyer will therefore have a direct impact on the success of the company and its ability to remain a market leader. Allow based in Lancashire, the individual appointed will be required to spend time at a European manufacturing site to ensure all ingredients are being sustainably sourced and category protocols adhered to. Key accountabilities of this role include developing and executing the Raw Material sourcing plans and producing a risk mitigation strategy. Price negotiation and the agreement of service level terms will be a further duty of this role. The Senior Buyer will develop an understanding of the key factors that can determine raw material prices and will use their knowledge to reduce costs without compromising on quality. The Senior Buyer will develop close working relationships both within the UK and at the European site with Procurement, NPD, Manufacturing and Supply Chain departments. Further duties will include managing minimum order quantities and the optimisation of stock holdings at both the UK and European sites. We are seeking a candidate with experience of strategic Ingredients procurement and category management within a Food / FMCG environment. A further prerequisite is excellent negotiation skills and previous responsibility for an annual raw materials / ingredients spend of £15 million plus.
