Use your hands-on Cell Biology and/or Biochemistry lab experience to keep us at the leading edge of Petcare Nutrition

Our Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition is our global hub of nutritional expertise, with scientific teams constantly striving to push innovation to the limit and keep us as THE leading global influence in this sector. Our laboratory team is currently working across a multitude of projects to gain further understanding of canine and feline health and nutrition and feeding preference.
As a Laboratory Research Scientist you’ll be involved in researching new laboratory capabilities in Cell Biology and/or Biochemistry through implementing and validating new laboratory methods whilst running established methodologies in these fields. This will involve responsibility for the running of a laboratory area and supervising and supporting laboratory technicians. In effect, you’ll be the technical expert in your field and the role will involve close liaison with leading scientists from our research teams.
You must have a degree in a Biological Science discipline with a proven track record of laboratory work in Cell Biology and/or Biochemistry, the following areas of expertise are preferable however it is not essential that you have experience in all of these areas:
• Cell isolations
• Cell characterisation
• Cell imaging and techniques to support this
• Validation of biochemical assays, using clinical chemistry analysers.
We’d also like experience of ELISAs, Flow Cytometry however these are not essential requirements. You’ll be a real hands-on operator, with your lab experience underpinned by real technical knowledge and passion, as well as the ability to keep pace with and introduce state-of-the-art methodologies to a talented team. Strong all-round communication and teamwork skills are essential. And if you already have supervisory experience, so much the better.
