Our Technical team at DFI Leeds are invaluable in ensuring that we meet our customer expectations and handle any issues professionally and promptly. Producing and packaging on site 7,000t per annum of pumpable soft cheese and liquid cheese for an ever-growing customer base, the focus at DFI Leeds is on ensuring a quality product that is right first time.
 
To assist in the efficiency and effectiveness of our QA and Technical operations on site, an opportunity has arisen for a QA Technician. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance from raw material entering the site through to final product delivery to the customer.

Key Responsibilities will include:

 Samples co-ordination including collection, testing and sending to customers
 Dealing with customer complaint investigations, implementing preventative measures and identifying root causes
 Monitoring Microbiological and Chemical results and testing schedule; implementing quarantine with out of specification results
 Co-ordinating approval of new Suppliers and maintenance of Approved Suppliers list
 Addressing quality issues with suppliers, ensuring full close out of same
 Maintaining the documented quality systems
 Ensuring the product release procedures are in place and effective
 Regularly auditing the factory environment to ensure adherence to all relevant processes
 Supporting customer audits as necessary
 Reporting timely KPI information to the Quality Manager, analysing and identifying trends

Who are we looking for?
It’s likely you’ll have up to 12 months’ QA experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food or dairy industry supported by a science-based qualification of ideally HND level or above. You will have a robust level of knowledge of all QA issues such as micro risks, temperature control and GMP. You will have experience of internal auditing and report writing, and understand standard investigation procedures. It’s likely that you will have been involved in full root cause analysis in previous experience.

You’ll be a team player who understands and enforces the importance of attention to Quality in our service to our customers. You will have clear communication skills and be comfortable liaising with both internal and external customers and suppliers. As the first port of call for many different types of issues, you will have a positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem solving.
