THE COMPANY is a manufacturer of a range of ambient Snack products for the UK market.
THE ENGINEERING MANAGER
Reporting to the Factory General manager, the Engineering Manager will have complete responsibility for the Engineering department. You will ensure on time completion to schedules, including plant breakdowns, plant maintenance and building fabric maintenance. The Engineering Manager is also responsible for the End to End project management of all Capital Expenditures on site. Some key activities of the role will include:-
*managing the team to ensure all installations, plant work, refurbishment, contractors and other engineering requirements are carried out in a fashion that minimises any food safety risks
*monitor the adherence to the day-to-day work schedule and adjust or manage accordingly
*ensure the Engineering Team Leaders allocate relevant skills in the team to ensure that manufacturing equipment is maintained allowing the highest product quality and minimises any contamination risks
*Deliver strategic development of the engineering function that meets the demands of a fast changing processing operation; Lean, Autonomous maintenance, 5S & TPM
*identify areas where the planned maintenance schedule can be adjusted through providing trend data analysis of equipment service needs, breakdown frequency or running hours
*effective communication across all departments
*ensure that the KPI's are kept up to date
You will have a FMCG manufacturing / production background with experience of managing a team within such a setting. Minimum requirements for the role are:-
*IOSH or NEBOSH Qualified.
*Engineering degree level qualification or similar.
*Time served / experienced Engineer / people manager with knowledge of machine repairs.
*Practical knowledge of industrial equipment in a wide range of manufacturing.
*Knowledge of Risk Assessment
*Able to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
*Machine fault diagnosis capability
*Ability to understand a wide range of engineering functions and procedures
*Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
*Not essential, but preferred would be experience of packaging machines, Ishida multihead weighers, Check weighers, safeline metal detectors, and Proctor / Kuipers / Wave or other processing equipment.
