Agricultural Development Manager
Reference Number – RHO16760
£Competitive + excellent benefits (incl. car allowance)
As an agricultural representative for Co-operative Food, you’ll be at the heart of all internal and external communications and agricultural matters, in this highly strategic and influential role working across livestock and fish production.
With exceptional communication skills, you’ll act as the key link on agricultural issues, from attending farmers meetings, to sitting in with government agencies to liaising with suppliers. You’ll also be influential in representing our business focus to define and deliver animal and fish welfare strategies for Co-operative brand products.
Working strategically, you’ll gain exposure to all aspects of the livestock and protein category area and in particular, work with suppliers to ensure compliance and delivery of all food safety and ethical standards. Your incredibly wide and varied remit will also include managing the communication of agricultural related issues, both internally, with suppliers and externally.
Visionary about anticipating future developments, you’ll be keen to develop the next stage of strategy and define what the future of agriculture will look like, influencing policy changes if need be. With an up-to-date knowledge of agri-science, research and development, you’ll translate theory into real-word practical applications and importantly, share your knowledge, ideas and vision for the future.
We don’t expect you to be an expert in everything, but to have a network of experts that you can rely on when necessary. So, if you posses an agricultural related degree, together with relevant experience possibly gained with a supplier, this is your chance to raise your profile with a world-class ethical retailer and develop a career and a future to be proud of.
