A leading player in the chilled foods arena working with major retailers in some of the most dynamic categories in the chiller cabinet.
THE TECHNICAL MANAGER
You'll be tasked with ensuring that site Technical and Quality systems and performance meet the required standards, and that appropriate, up to date records are maintained. The Technical Manager manages, develops and controls the Technical and QA function, in order to achieve compliance with legislation and agreed customer requirements. In addition you will take responsibility for food safety, quality and legality on the production site, and chilled storage / distribution site. The role reports into the Operations Director.
Our client is looking for an exceptional candidate with well-developed communication skills and personal stature, together with a mature personality, tact and diplomacy. Naturally you will be a strong team player, able to assess technical situations and recommend solutions often requiring a high degree of independence.
You will need to lead, manage and develop a reporting team including identifying training needs to ensure the company technical resource maintains compliance across all areas.
In addition, you will have the following skills / experience as a minimum:-
*Food Science degree or similar
*A minimum of 3 years Technical / QA Management experience, ideally gained within a chilled food manufacturing environment.
*Fully conversant with current BRC requirements, HACCP, Quality systems and ideally hold an Audit qualification.
