My Client is looking for a Technical Manager to join the Technical team at their Bakery site.  Reporting to the Head of Technical in Manufacturing, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance to ensure company standards for quality, safety, integrity, legal compliance, & corporate social responsibility are achieved whilst business and commercial improvements are delivered.

You will be required to provide advice, support decision making to colleagues across the business in identifying, escalating and managing risks, dealing with incidents and working together to improve processes. As Technical Manager you will need to manage, coach and develop competent Technical and Hygiene teams, whilst managing agreed site Technical, Hygiene & Audit metrics and delivering strategic technical plans for the site, supporting group technical strategy.
Manages External regulatory and enforcement agencies through incident management.

Your role will liaise  with Food Safety & Senior Technical Managers for Manufacturing, whilst liaising with Retail, Technical and compliance team and liase cross functionally at site level and also across  contribute to business unit technical team 

It is essential for you to have a Degree in relevant science, manufacturing, chemistry, engineering, business or a closely related discipline.
Preferably experience of working in a Technical role from a bakery environment, good working knowledge of all accreditation standards and relevant legislation.
You must have an appreciation of the safety, legal compliance, compositional and quality aspects of products ideally from a bakery environment, specialised technical or manufacturing knowledge preferably from a bakery environment, ideally with a Lead assessor qualification and/or significant experience of supplier auditing.
The ability to influence and drive change is essential with the understanding of the UK and EU legal framework and the ability to lead and manage crisis situations such as product withdrawals and recalls, risk assessing likelihood and impact and formulating recommendations.
