We’re now looking for a senior commercial manager to help us develop a seamless, best in class new product development (NPD) process. In this role you’ll maximise the efficiency of the process that takes our new food products from concept right the way through to launch. Creating the UK’s best and most efficient NPD and delivery process that aligns all stakeholders to deliver exceptional product quality, innovation & great value for money developments at pace, so that commercials are maximised, execution is exceptional and customers are delighted.

What you’ll do:

  • lead and develop a high performing team, plus 3rd party suppliers
  • create and deliver a robust 12-18 strategic planning cycle to deliver own brand product to market
  • continuously strive to improve the NPD process for taking new product concepts to launch, effectively managing the stage gate process to ensure on time launches across all own brand products
  • develop and future proof our labelling strategy, working closely with legal, brand & 3rd party suppliers to ensure brand integrity and customer focus
  • react quickly to new legislation that may need to be implemented into the process
  • liaise with a wide range of external and internal business partners

To get going quickly, you’ll have substantial experience within a senior NPD process or project management role, preferably gained in a fast-moving food retail or supplier organisation. You’ll also have the ability to develop strategic plans and be able to react quickly to change - not just in legislation, but by listening to our customers and members and what they want. You’ll also be engaging and confident as you develop and influence key relationships with various partners at all levels.

  • you can develop commercial, strategic plans
  • you’ve got a consistent track record in service delivery, budget management and cost control
  • you’ve previously led and coached a senior team
  • you have experience leading and landing multiple projects  and plans at pace
  • you can build effective working relationships with internal and external business partners
