Project Engineer, Portsmouth

Degree level Engineer needed for key role developing new tooling and manufacturing systems for a FMCG manufacturing company.

The position of Project Engineer sits within the team developing new products, processes and equipment in this high-volume manufacturing company. They create products for foodservice customers which are unique in the market place and as such require custom made tooling to be designed on a regular basis. You will use your skills with 2D and 3D CAD software to design the precision tooling and components which set their products apart from the competition. Reporting to the Technical Manager who has extensive experience in the sector, you will have excellent support in gaining an in-depth understanding of their existing manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing support on 3D CAD drawing systems
• Working on cross functional project teams
• Designing equipment and tooling
• Keeping up to date with the latest industry developments
• Delivering projects such as installations and relocation of equipment

For this role we are looking for a graduate level, or equivalent, Engineer who is comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key traits are adaptability, agility and an understanding of working in a project environment. Previous experience in an FMCG manufacturing experience would be great but other sectors which utilise technology such as blow moulding and precision tooling is definitely of interest.

Experience in CAD is an absolute must for this role and as part of the interview process you will have the opportunity to demonstrate some previous projects you have completed with CAD.
