Job Title - Engineering Charge Hand
Reference - HB3815
Location - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Salary - £41,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Charge Hand to join one of the leading names in the Food Manufacturing sector. My client is looking for electrically biased multi skilled engineers for their purpose built site in the Peterborough area.
As Engineering Charge Hand you will work together with a multi-disciplined team of engineers to carry out first line maintenance tasks and improvements on equipment throughout the factory efficiently and effectively to enable maintenance targets to be met. You will provide feedback on completed tasks and work requirements using the CMMS to ensure equipment histories and costs are up to date and to enable follow up work to be identified and planned.
The ideal candidate will ideally have the following skills/qualifications;
1.Have a 'right first time' work ethic and use root cause analysis to determine the underlying reasons behind problems and failures and act on the findings
2.Be observant at all times when in the plant and investigate any deficiencies observed or reported to you; raise work orders for those that cannot be actioned immediately and feedback on those that can
3.To instil a Continuous Improvement mentality - provide and implement ideas to improve manufacturing and mechanical efficiency and equipment reliability.
4.Work in liaison with other departments as required and provide support and assistance where possible
5.Enter accurate, detailed feedback on all completed tasks into the CMMS on a daily basis
6.Work closely with the Maintenance Planner to ensure the smooth execution of both day-to-day maintenance tasks and shutdown work
7.Ensure the upkeep and reliability of all plant and equipment in your designated area by feeding back requirements to the Planner/Supervisors
You will need to a minimum of 3 years' experience working within an FMCG Maintenance position, and possess a City & Guilds or equivalent in a relevant subject. Knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing is also strongly desirable.
