Opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional to take on a senior leadership role as a Business Improvement Manager within the food sector.

Business Improvement, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence - whatever you call it the objective is to make the business run more efficiently with less waste and deliver higher profits.

If you want to utilise your existing skills in manufacturing in a role specifically focused on refining manufacturing processes, reducing wastage and making better use of the labour at hand then this is the opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Site Director at this semi-automated food manufacturing site you will form part of the senior leadership team, sitting alongside the Operations Manager and Engineering Manager. Working closely with your peers your objective is to identify and deliver Business Improvement projects using appropriate lean manufacturing techniques. As a newly created role you be defining the BI targets for the site in line with divisional targets and long term strategic plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Define a pipeline of achievable Business Improvement initiatives
  • Manage BI projects utilising resources such as BI Coordinator and Ops/Engineering team members
  • Measure and drive adoption of the new manufacturing excellence program
  • Coach and develop colleagues in lean methods to enable succession planning for the Business Improvement function


This role would suit a degree level Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager with experience in delivering Continuous Improvement projects in a high-volume / fast-paced environment. Ideally coming from a World Class Lean business and possessing an assertive and persuasive personality as you will need to be an influencer across the site.
