New Product Development Manager

The Company

Highly ambitious and passionate about good food, they are now looking for an experienced New Product Development Manager to help drive new projects.

The Role

This customer focused role will see you as the driving force behind new innovations. Working from set briefs you’ll ensure that new ranges are in line with customer requirements whilst maintaining a level of originality to keep ahead of the latest food trends. Overseeing the NPD process you will manage concept development in line with customer schedules and critical paths guaranteeing technical and commercial parameters are satisfied. As well as monitoring the progression of new ideas, you will also be refreshing the existing portfolio to make sure the company continues to outstrip the competition.

Proactive and resourceful in your approach, you will guide your team in identifying the latest food and consumer trends, communicating findings as appropriate to introduce an exciting offering into the market place. Finally you’ll conduct presentations to impress prestigious customers with your knowledge and awareness of cutting edge innovation, helping this rapidly expanding business achieve its ambitious commercial goals within the market.

The Person

We are looking for an NPD Manager or a highly capable senior technologist looking to up their game and face a challenge in the next stage of their career. You will have a proven record of driving innovation within a chilled category, supported by a strong understanding of food science and manufacturing processes. You’ll also have a good eye for spotting up and coming market trends with the ability to apply your research and translate your findings into workable products.

You’ll be comfortable working in a customer facing role and will have previous experience delivering results from concept to launch in a retail environment. It is essential that you have great project management skills as well as an articulate presentation style. You will also need to have previous people management experience where you have led and encouraged a team to reach their maximum potential.
