Department Manager - Technical Nights
We’ve got a fantastic job for a Department Manager - Technical to join our Thrapston manufacturing site. Reporting to the Site Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day management and guidance of the technical team across all departments.
This is a nights role and requires flexibility to work weekends business dependent.
Requirements of the Job
As a Department Manager - Technical, you will deliver food safety, legality, quality and integrity for all our customers and brands along with ensuring that all designated procedures and practices comply to legal, BRC and MMS requirements. You’ll be responsible for checking CCP‘s across departments and ensuring trained competent colleagues are controlling these. You’ll be a strong people developer and performance manager through a coaching and leadership style and you’ll have an ability to be able to lead change through a continuous improvement approach as well as being able to support and advise colleagues on technical issues.

- NightsYou’ll have relevant experience or a degree in science, food technology, chemistry, microbiology, engineering, manufacturing or business along with knowledge of safety, legality, compliance and quality across supply chain and produce range. You will have previous experience/knowledge of high risk coupled with thermal processing knowledge/experience and strong analytical and decision making skills. You will have excellent communication skills and solution focussed problem solver.

Thrapston was acquired in 2004 with a purpose build distribution warehouse added in 2005. The site is a fruit packhouse on 14 acres of land and home to 740 colleagues which churns out 130 million packs of fruit and 40 million packs of nuts a year. The site supplies 46% of store base, delivering direct to 82 stores.
