Key Responsibilities:

Drive the performance of the engineering and maintenance team agenda to deliver:
Key Performance Indicators (KPI) improvement
Service Level Agreement (SLA) service improvement
Technical capability
Tactical implementation of the maintenance agenda

Develop, implement and maintain a rolling 3 year Maintenance Site Strategy including reliability improvement activities to drive down downtime. From this develop the Maintenance Action plan for the year and then ensure that all of these actions are cascaded down into the Engineering and Maintenance team's objectives

Deliver best in class maintenance preparation and planning through the site Maintenance team by ensuring all Assets on site are captured in the CMMS and have effective planned Maintenance Tasks that drive site reliability

Work with the Shift Managers to deliver effective maintenance execution that improves machine reliability, delivering the required volume fill for all areas. Coach and influence this group in their understanding of maintenance priorities and responsibilities

Be the site lead interpreting key Maintenance KPI's i.e. Downtime, Planned Compliance, Planned Work, Maintenance Utilisation, % CARV and Data Quality to formulate plans that deliver continuous improvements

Ensure best in class service for spares delivery to support site reliability while formulating plans that deliver continuous improvements in the key KPIs

Be the site lead in the CMMS System ensuring the necessary personnel are correctly trained, and Maintenance Governance process / audit ensuring there are plans in place to deliver the required targets of this audit and lead the site on their route to Best Maintenance practice



Influence / Control the R&M and engineering labour spend. Drive awareness of maintenance costs among frontline team

Develop a pool of talent to provide pipeline fills for all critical roles within the Engineering and Maintenance team

Relevant decisions the incumbent takes that create an impact in the business:

Financial

Responsible for the allocation of financial resource within budget constraints (Engineering budget £1.0 million). Spend within Sarbane Oxley guidelines
Supports development of future budget based on performance aligned to overall site targets for defined area of responsibility


People

Key player in supporting and developing the structure of the technical team
Skills assessment of team members and construction of development plans
Input to assessment of Shift Managers front line employee technical capability
Management of core people processes for direct team


Functional

Development of systems and programmes to drive effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance plan

Scope of the position (Global, Regional, Local, Plant, Department, Area, etc..)
Works within the UK structure, site based within the engineering function

Ensuring compliance to all local legislation i.e. Elect Regs, Asbestos, Legionella, COSHH
Maintaining an all green Engineering scorecard
Compliance to PM schedule
Completion of work orders and backlog control
Ratio planned to unplanned work
Reactive vs preventative
Unplanned downtime
Planned downtime
Maintenance labour utilisation
Compliance to maintenance improvement plan.

Through effective root cause analysis drive down unplanned downtime and through good planning and coordination ensure the completion of effective planned Downtime
Implementing effective changes to the plant through good Engineering Change Management
