Interim Process Engineer

3-4 months
Daily rate

I hear you want a challenge? And you like fixing and improving things? And you're a process engineer?

Read on, compadre.

The Company

They manufacture some of the most well-known brands that you'll find in your cupboards and fridges. It's a multi-site business and particularly this factory has a lot of history.

The manufacturing process is quite complex. It involves raw materials that aren't all that easy to work with; all sorts of complex electrical and mechanical operations; some technically challenging pieces too; a very “process-heavy” operation.

If you don't like a challenge, you don't like solving problems and you don't get a joy from optimising processes which are not running well.

This is NOT for you. I repeat, NOT for you.

  • Complex processes.
  • Household brands.
  • Demanding customer base.

The Role

  • Proper interim job.
  • Factory based with a clear focus on improving their processes
  • Make a tangible, sustainable difference onsite.

So. This isn't backfilling a permanent role. It's a proper interim job.

People and processes? Well this is all about processes.

I don't need to teach a process engineer how to suck eggs. You're going to be hands-on, on the shop floor and working with the kit and looking at how to make their processes as efficient as possible.

So you'll be making a difference. Which is a great place to be.

You

Pretty simple.

  • Chemical Engineer (Ideal, almost essential)
  • Process Experience – Drinks/Dairy/Canning/Brewery/Pharma (ideal and probably essential!).
  • Really good at what you do.
  • Available immediately / within a week's notice.

Ideally a chemical engineer by trade, which means food industry experience for a change is NOT essential!

If you've never done interim before, again it's NOT essential!

Think of yourself as a manufacturing industry, engineering version of Sherlock Holmes.
You're a consulting detective/engineer.
You need to crack the puzzle. Except the puzzle involves machinery rather than murders.

It's on a daily rate.

What to do now.

Again, simple.

  • Be a chemical engineer/process engineer
  • Either click apply or email me at moin.ahmed@silven.co.uk
  • Add your current daily rate and references if you're feeling proactive.
