Waste - no one likes it. However, some accept it. Others, like you, can't and need to do everything in their power to eliminate it. Why is that?

I am by no means a CI Manager, but I would certainly put myself in the camp of hating waste. That's why I can't write lengthy job adverts. Like a Ronseal product, I need this to do exactly what it says on the tin and that is appeal to you, as a CI Manager, so that you apply to this role.

Why would you? Although it is working for a large multi-site business, it is a unique position within the group focusing on the reduction (hopefully elimination) of waste, in all forms.

Certainly food waste, which is higher than it should be. There should be some low hanging fruit here for you to immediate focus on (excuse the pun). You will ideally have a background in CI / Lean to work closely with the workforce to see significant savings in this area.

Water - Where is 300,000 cubic meters going annually?

Energy - This one I can certainly relate to - while you won't necessarily hide the thermostat from the staff like I do with my family, gas & electricity use is higher than it should be. How will you improve this area?

This will all be carried out on one of Scotland's largest food manufacturing facilities, so you will have considerable variety in role and plenty to consider so no boredom in role.

This role reports into someone with a fairly unique background who has experience and formal qualifications in Engineering, CI, H&S & Environmental so you will have a fantastic mentor to work with and learn from.

You will need to have CI / Lean experience within a manufacturing environment. Waste reduction is of course of paramount importance. But most importantly is the influencing and engagement skills needed to engage with a work force of over 1,200 people.
