This business have an excellent market reputation & as a result have been able to secure more business & develop new products for key retailers. They have invested in new equipment and increased the site capacity and as the Engineering Team Leader you will be a key part in ensuring high levels of efficiency across the plant.

Description

As Engineering Team Leader, you will be leading a team of engineers in driving equipment consistent results. You will be working with the senior management team in order to implement site wide initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Shift handover communication to engineers / operators
  • Attend shift production meetings
  • Highlight top issues on current production and develop an action plan to resolve / manage in conjunction with shift Managers ensure emergency spares are acquired as necessary
  • Brief team regarding upcoming activities and priorities
  • Review plan (engineering / operations) for any up and coming changeovers and brief your teams accordingly
  • Review plan (engineering / operations) for any up and coming availability of assets for P.M. and remedial work opportunities brief your teams accordingly
  • Liaise with operations and engineering teams to ensure that the activities of contract labour are understood and briefed to the teams
  • Liaise with operations and engineering teams to ensure that all in house engineering activities are understood and briefed to the teams
  • Review performance of the shift with Shift Managers in readiness for shift handover - ensure 100% lost time is accounted for during your shift with action plans for on-going issues
  • Shift handover communication, Inform oncoming shift Engineering Team Leader of any known issues ensure there is a fully documented handover to the oncoming shift ensure accurate downtime recording all downtime is accounted for
  • Break adherence management: Manage your team's breaks in conjunction with production needs to ensure that lines run to their optimal performance
  • Ensure meeting attendance as and when required with focus on internal customer support
  • Planning of remedial work ensuring all required components are acquired
  • Control of contractors and permits to work ensure all RAMS are sufficient
  • Apprentice training and management
  • Ensures a safe working environment exists for all employees
  • Manages required standards of food safety, hygiene & GMP for the site



  • THIS ROLE IS ON A 4 ON 4 OFF SHIFT (INCLUDING ROTATING DAYS & NIGHTS)



    Profile

    A Senior Engineer or Maintenance Team Leader/Supervisor with experience ideally within an FMCG manufacturing environment ideally food, beverage or packaging. The successful applicant will have:
  • Formal Engineering qualifications (e.g. Time served apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent
  • Recognised electrical and mechanical qualifications & experience
  • Understanding of PLC & computer controlled equipment
  • Experience of working with PLCs (Siemens S7, S5 and Alan Bradley)
  • Competent electrical / electronic fault finding & analysis skills
  • Able to work under own supervision or as part of a team
  • Flexible working attitude, as you will be required to work such other hours as the company may deem necessary
  • Excellent cross functional communication skills
