Description

As the Quality & Technical Lead you have the opportunity to join an exceptionally experienced company with a supportive team that are looking to drive the business forward & continue to improve. You will be a big part of ensuring they maintain their customer satisfaction levels & effectively introduce new & exciting products.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Monitor and report on the quality and service from external suppliers of factored goods and raw materials.
  • Investigate all service and quality issues raised internally or by customers that relate to the suppliers.
  • Work with the suppliers to develop and implement process improvement plans, whereby they give a clear and sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Provide feedback on any issues raised including proposed resolution for factored goods.
  • Monitor performance of suppliers against process improvement plans.
  • Carry out supplier audits for existing suppliers.
  • Identify potential new suppliers and carry out supplier audits for potential future suppliers to determine their capability and in turn provide recommendations back to the business.
  • Use the vendor performance measurement system, carry out regular reviews with the suppliers.
  • Provide support for the procurement team as part of any negotiation process with suppliers.
  • Provide support to material control to ensure smooth flow of goods, meeting or exceeding service and quality expectations for suppliers.
  • Ensure suppliers meet any new or current regulations as defined by the technical department.
  • Ensure suppliers meet the design requirements consistently, as specified by the design team.
  • Ensure that Technical Data Sheets, package labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (when applicable) of the products are up-to-date and conform to regulatory requirements.
  • Work alongside product management and sales to ensure the suppliers can meet product quality and service requirements.
  • Support the new product introduction process, ensuring goods from external suppliers meet the product and packing specifications.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure that packaging consistently conforms to specification and is suitable for the outbound supply chain.
  • Support the documentation of supplier development processes including supplier audits and supplier quality processes.
  • Monitor the new product development activity of competitors to benchmark and establish opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Technical and R&D teams to ensure that all aspects of new products meet the high expectations on the typical customer.
  • Meet health and safety requirements as specified in the Health and Safety policy.
  • Produce a concise 4 weekly report of progress to ensure that the technical department composite Board Report can be completed on time.




  • Profile

    A Quality Professional, ideally with prior within a FMCG or chemical manufacturing environment & the following:
    • Ideally qualified to degree level
    • In depth knowledge of formal Quality Management Systems
    • Experience of working with overseas suppliers in a supplier development or auditing role would be highly advantageous
    • Familiar with ISO9001/14001 ideally with auditing experience
    • Ideally experience overseeing management systems & documentation during introducing new products
    • Lead Auditor capability
