NPD Buyer

As NPD Buyer within our Food to Go business, you will be based at our site in Bow, East London, and your role will be to ensure that all new ingredients are sourced in line with purchasing strategies.

Main responsibilities

In your role as NPD Buyer, you will ensure that any product development purchases are aligned with material strategy and operate in support of Food to Go’s innovation agenda. You will be the main interface between suppliers and the NPD teams, ensuring suppliers are briefed correctly and that NPD are provided with samples and product information within the required timeframes.

As your role progresses, working as part of a Material Sourcing team, you will effectively lead buy a material or material group, ensuring that the total cost is managed efficiently and effectively.  You will also be involved in any ad hoc projects, as required by the business.

You will establish and monitor data and forecast prices, to ensure accurate business forecasting and costing processes.

This post requires innovation in order to maintain existing business and gain new business wins, so you will be expected to contribution ideas and information, ensuring that any activities that are undertaken are in line with, and focussed on, common goals. 

Ideal candidate

As an NPD Buyer within the business, we expect that you be educated to  of degree level intellect, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.  You should also have strong commercial, numerical and analytical skills.

You should be results driven, be able to work on your own initiative whilst operating within a team environment, and have the communication skills to be able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

You should be capable of using logic and reason in your decision making processes and be able to align your activities to the strategic direction of the division.
